EV, the independent venture capital fund manager is joining the Yorkshire financial and professional community by opening an office at 1 Whitehall in Leeds city centre.
Enterprise Ventures was itself the subject of a management buyout four years ago, since when it has grown into one of the leading venture capitalists working in the English regions with more than £50m of funds under management, four active funds and several deals already completed in the Yorkshire region.
Richard Bamford, Executive Chairman of EV says ‘We are delighted to be opening in Leeds and to be joining the local financial and professional community. Two of our funds are directed at businesses in Yorkshire and the North East. We feel the time is right to commit to the Yorkshire venture capital market where we have already experienced success and are very much aware of the investment and growth opportunities’.
Jonathan Diggines, EV Chief Executive, says ‘We have been increasingly active in Yorkshire and the North East. We expect the Coalfields Enterprise Fund (CEF) and the new RisingStars Growth Fund II (RSGF II) to be very active in the region, with CEF focusing on smaller SME’s and RSGF II investing in early stage technology/proof of concept deals’.
